This project explored an interest in creation via destruction through Artemis, a constructed alter ego. Deriving meaning from production, rather than from a conceptual process, the artifact incorporated the use of a chemical reaction in order to demonstrate this interest. The image (a mandala consisting of subtly unique shapes—a sort of natural geometry) created through this reaction was then destroyed, but not without leaving evidence of its prior existence and posing questions regarding ephemerality and the universe.
